Local Crime Update 15/11/2022

Dear Residents

Please find below the crime record for the period from 1st November to 15th November 2022.

Unfortunately, we’ve had several recent vehicle thefts. The vehicles stolen have been BMWs, Mercedes and Range Rovers. There are several ways you can make it harder for thieves.  I’ve mentioned before about Faraday Cases, or another metal/foil container, which reduces the chance of the cloning device copying your keys.  If you have more than one vehicle if possible, park them so the most valuable is blocked in by the less valuable vehicle(s) or consider parking in the garage if possible.  It’s also worth considering security gates or a bollard.

Fortunately the burglary and theft from motor vehicle rate has remained low.

On the community engagement side, we attended the Remembrance Sunday Service at St Mary’s Church.  A very nice moving service honouring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.  PC Lea Hartley laid a wreath on behalf of the Police.

Our next residents’ surgery will be at Shortlands Library, Shortlands Road on Saturday 26/11/22 from 10am to 11am.  It will be interesting to see if a weekend morning attracts more people.

Kind regards

Adam
