Local Crime Update 31/08/2022

Dear Residents

Hope you’re all well.

Please find below the crime record for the period from 14 Aug to 31 August.  Very pleasing to see no burglaries and the overall crime rate remaining low.

The majority of vehicles being stolen at the moment are Range Rovers.  If you own a Range Rover or other high value vehicle it may be worth investing in an electric gate or bollard which would make it harder for thieves to drive your vehicle away.  If your garage is big enough that could also be an option.  Keeping the keys in a Faraday case or other metal or foil container can reduce the chance of your keys being copied.  CCTV and/or sensor lights can be very useful for catching and/or recording suspects.

On the community engagement side, as we enter September, Volunteer Police Cadets will be resuming and the team will be attending outside the schools on the ward from time to time at the start or finish of the school day depending on our shift.  Hopefully some of the schools will ask us to do talks again.

We are aiming to attend the community café at St Mary’s Church, Kingswood Road next Wednesday 07/09/22.  There’s also a resident’s surgery from 4pm to 5pm on Friday 23/09/22 at Shortlands Library, Shortlands Road.  Hope to see some of you at these events.

Thanks as always for your help and support.

Kind regards

Adam
