Bromley Council has extended its Public Space Protection Order for a further 3 years and it will now include all open spaces the public have access to in the borough, like Queensmead, as Alcohol Exclusion Zones. This does not include places that are licensed such as pubs or festivals.
The Order does not stop drinking as such, but allows an authorised person to request a person acting in an anti-social way whilst consuming alcohol to stop and hand over the drink. If they fail to do so, they can be issued with a fixed penalty notice. The Order has also been updated to include psycho-active substances.
