Local Crime Update 30/11/2022

Dear Residents

Please find below the crime record for the period from 16th Nov to 30 Nov 2022.  Very pleasing to see no thefts of motor vehicle and only one burglary.  Disappointing to see a bit of a rise in thefts from motor vehicles.

As this is my last crime update before Christmas a quick reminder not to leave packaging from expensive gifts visible on your driveway as this can encourage burglars.

I’m sure many of you will be out and about taking part in various activities including shopping, socialising and shows in busy areas.  Keep your valuables such as phones or wallets in either inside or front pockets rather than back pockets.  Make sure handbags and manbags are zipped up and worn across the body rather than loose on one shoulder.  Following these tips should substantially reduce your chances of being a victim of theft enabling you to enjoy your festive activities.

Our next public meetings are:

  • the Ward Panel meeting at St Mary’s Church, Kingswood Road at 7.30 pm next Tuesday 6th December;
  • “Cuppa with a Copper” on Saturday 10/12/22 from 4pm to 5pm at Costa Coffee, Westmoreland Road
  • a resident’s surgery at Shortlands Library on Saturday 31/12/22 from 10 am to 11 am.

Hope to see some of you at these events.

Finally, I’d like to wish you all a Merry Christmas although I know I’ll see some of you before then.

Thanks as always for your help and support.

Kind regards

Adam
