30 May Shortlands Road Resurfacing Starts 30 May

Due to the condition of its carriageway deteriorating faster than expected with countless potholes, the resurfacing of Shortlands Road between Shortlands Grove and Mays Hill Road has been brought forward to begin on Tuesday 30 May. Work will be completed within four days, though, with working hours running from 9.30am until 3pm, there will inevitably be diversions and some disruption. But, given the present state of this stretch of Shortlands Road, short term inconvenience is outweighed by the greater safety offered by a smooth road surface both for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers and their vehicles.
