Local Crime Update 20/10/2023

Dear Residents

Please find below the crime record for period from 1st Oct to 20th Oct 2023.

Unfortunately, we’ve had a several incidents of car tyres being slashed while parked on driveways or on the road in the roads around Queensmead Recreation Ground.  I’ve contacted all the victims offering support and crime prevention advice.  In addition I’ve put on an intelligence report in order to make other officers across the borough aware.  Sadly we’ve also had two burglaries.  Theft of motor vehicles also seems to have increased again but on a more positive note there hasn’t been any for about a week.  On a daily basis our crime rate is still very low.

Earlier this month we carried out a vehicle stop operation.  Although we weren’t able to get hold of a speed gun, several motorists were given tickets for using mobile phones while driving and not wearing a seat belt.

James, Chris and I held a meeting with Councillor Adam Grant this week re crime and road safety.  In addition I attended the community café at St Mary’s Church where I had some nice chats with residents.  Our next drop in surgery will be on Saturday 11/11/23 from 10am to 11am at Shortlands Library, Shortlands Road.

After today I’m on leave until Sunday 05/11/23 but you can still contact James and Chris via the Shortlands Ward Email address ShortlandsSNT@met.police.uk

Just a quick reminder that it’s always best to email us all this way so one of us will pick it up.

Thanks as always for your help and support. Stay safe

Kind regards

Adam
