Local Crime Update 31/03/2024

Dear Residents

Hope you’re all well and had a nice Easter.

Please find below the crime record for the period from 21st March to 31st March.  Pleasing to see that Faraday cases have worked on two recent occasions to prevent vehicles being stolen. For one of these offences we got fairly good CCTV so hopefully something will come of this.  Also pleasing to see that we haven’t had any house burglaries but it’s also worrying that shed burglary seems to be on the rise at the moment.

Make sure you have a good strong lock on your shed door and keep detailed records of items you keep in your shed e.g. bicycles, gardening equipment, sports equipment.  Make a note of things such as colour, make, model and any serial number and/or markings.  This makes it easier for us to trace the owners of found property increasing the chance of getting your property back.  Hopefully you won’t need to provide this information to police but remember forewarned is forearmed.

On the community engagement side we will be holding a drop in surgery at Shortlands Library, Shortlands Road from 4pm to 5pm on Friday 06/04/24.  Everyone’s welcome whether you have a specific issue to discuss or just want to meet your local police in a friendly informal environment.  Our next Cuppa With A Copper sessions will be on Thursday 11/04/24 from 4pm to 5pm and Friday 19/04/24 from 10am to 11am.  Both of these will be at Costa Coffee, Westmoreland Road.  The next ward panel meeting will be on Tuesday 30/04/24 at 7.30pm in the Friends Room at St Mary’s Church, Kingswood Road.

Thanks as always for your help and support.  Stay safe.

Kind regards

Adam
