18 Sep Latest Crime Update 16/09/2025
Dear Residents
Please find below the crime record for the period from 1st September to 16th September 2025.
Concerning to see a burglary happening when someone was at home. Thankfully when challenged the suspects fled. Disappointing to see we’ve had an increase in both burglary & theft of motor vehicle.
If you’ve got concerns about home and/or vehicle security please feel free to contact me either by email or on one of the numbers below. I’m also happy to carry out home security visits. It’s well worth visiting the “Secured By Design” website for the best crime prevention products. All products on this site have to pass tests showing they meet certain standards before they can be recommended. “Secured By Design” does not sell products so once you’ve found a product you’d like to buy, start looking round appropriate shops and websites. I strongly advise against going directly on to sales sites as the products may not be up to standard and be ineffective.
Pouches to prevent keys being read & steering wheel locks are good for reducing the chances of your vehicle being stolen.
Lockable windows are a very good idea for your home. Always ensure you double lock your front door when you go out. Sometimes it can be advisable to do this when you’re at home too. However, if you do, make sure your keys are easily accessible in case you had to leave in a hurry due to an emergency ie fire or flood.
On the community engagement side there’s three things coming up:
This week:
- On both Friday 19/09/25 & Saturday 20/09/25 we’ll be on Beckenham Green from 1pm to 3pm with a crime prevention stand.
- Also on Friday 19/09/25 they’ll be a Cuppa With A Copper session from 4pm to 5pm at Costa Coffee, Westmoreland Road.
Next week:
- I’m hoping to attend the community café at St Mary’s Church on Wednesday 24/09/25.
- The Cuppa With A Copper session will be on Thursday 25/09/25 from 10am to 11am also at Costa Coffee Westmoreland Road.
Hope to see some of you at these events. Thanks as always for your help & support.
Kind Regards
Adam Charles
