Latest Ward Crimes 16-30 April 2026

Dear Residents,

Please find below the crime record for the period from 16 April to 30 April 2026.

Very pleasing to see only one theft of motor vehicle & no burglaries. Worrying to see teenagers breaking into Bishop Challoner School & committing arson but very pleasing to see the suspects arrested. Also worrying to see a commuter being targeted by thieves on e-scooters and e-bikes.

Officers will keep their eyes out for youngsters using these modes of transport and if they look suspicious stop them. Unfortunately, on SNT, we don’t always have access to marked vehicles making it difficult to stop them during normal SNT patrols.  However, we also have the marked cars from the response team andsometi mes we have marked minibuses where several Ward’s officers have been put together patrolling the area as a tasking team.  This also has the advantage of several officers being available together to stop larger groups.

On the community engagement side, we’ll be holding Cuppa With A Copper events at Costa Coffee on Westmoreland Road:

  • Tuesday 12/05/26 10am to 11pm
  • Thursday 21/05/26 4pm to 5pm

This Monday (11/05/26) I hope to go into Shortlands Library during their coffee morning which runs from 11:30am to 12:30pm.

Hope to see some of you at these events. Thanks as always for your help & support.

Kind Regards,

Adam Charles
