Latest Ward Crimes 18 – 30 September 2026

Dear Residents,

Please find below the crime record for the period from 18 Sept to 30 Sept 26.

Very pleasing to see no burglaries. Unfortunately, two more people were targeted at the cash machine at the Tesco in Westmoreland Road.  Fortunately, as detailed below one of the victims realised immediately what had happened & called 999.  Unfortunately, the suspect had fled in a vehicle with false plates & covered their face making identification from CCTV impossible.

Often victims think their cards are stuck in the machine & report it in slow time by which stage money may have been taken from their account.  If you are approached by someone telling you a cash machine’s not working, and your card disappears, call 999 and after that ring your bank to cancel the card ASAP.

Sadly, we also had a spate of vehicle crime around the same time, but I’m pleased to say that over the last week of September we had nothing further.

On the community engagement side there’s several events coming up:

  • This Saturday (10/10/26) I’ll be holding a drop-in surgery at Shortlands Library from 3pm to 4pm in their temporary home of the Friends Room (where we hold our panel meetings) at St Mary’s Church.
  • Also, at St Mary’s Church I hope to pop into the Community Café on Wednesday 14/10/26.
  • On Saturday (17/09/26) from 3pm to 5pm, again at St Mary’s Church, my colleague PC Max Thompson from Beckenham Town & Copers Cope and I will be attending a coffee afternoon organised by Liam Conlon MP for residents to come and talk with local services.
  • On Tuesday 20/10/26 we’ll be back in the Friends Room at St Mary’s for our ward panel meeting at 7.30pm.

Look forward to seeing some of you at these events. Thanks as always for your help & support.

Kind Regards
