17 May Latest Ward Crimes 1-15 May 2026
Dear Residents,
Please find below the crime record for the period from 1st to 15th May 2026.
Very pleasing to see the overall amount so low. No burglaries, thefts from vehicle or vehicle interference reported.
The Toyota Rav 4 seems to be a popular vehicle with thieves at the moment. If you own one, it could be worth speaking to the manufacturer or to a garage re any ways of making your vehicle more secure. Could also be worth visiting the “Secured By Design” Website to look at key pouches & steering wheel locks.
Regarding the ‘phone snatch at the station, I’d advise against walking along the road using your phone. If you do use your phone out on the street it’s best to stop & stand back on the pavement as much as possible from the road.
On the community engagement we’ve got 3 “Cuppa with a Copper” sessions coming up:
- The first is Sunday 17/05/26 from Midday to 1pm at Truffles, Westmoreland Road.
- The second’s on Thursday 21/05/26 from 4pm to 5pm. The venue’s Costa Coffee, Westmoreland Road. This was originally scheduled for Friday 22/05/26 but we’ve had to bring it forward a day due to operational reasons.
- The third session’s also at Costa on Westmoreland Road. It will be on Thursday 28/05/26 from 10am to 11am.
Hopefully, we’ll also be able to pop into the Community Café at St Mary’s Church on Wednesday 27/05/26. Hope to see some of you at these events.
Thanks as always for your help & support.
Kind Regards,
Adam Charles
