Latest Ward Crimes 1 – 18 July 2026

Dear Residents,

Please find below the crime record for the period from 1st July to 18th July 2026.

Although the overall crime rate’s low I ,need to bring to your attention the vehicle interference offence on Malmains Way in the early hours of 17/07/26 and the theft from motor vehicle offence on Hayes Lane in the early hours of 18/07/26.  On both occasions the suspects were disturbed by the victims and fled without stealing the vehicles.   Sadly, both victims were subjected to verbal abuse which was very frightening for them.  On both occasions the suspects were a group of four males riding e bikes.

Unfortunately, due to a combination of abstractions, victim visits & other incidents, we’ve not been able to do as much community engagement as we’d like to. In order to put that right we’ll be holding a Cuppa With A Copper sessions on:

  • Tuesday 21/07/26  – from 10am to 11am
    &
  • Saturday 01/08/26 – from 3pm to 4pm

The venue for both will be Costa Coffee, Westmoreland Road. Hope to see some of you there.

Thanks as always for your help & support.

Kind Regards,

Adam Charles
