Local Crime Update 15/06/2022

Dear Residents

Please find below the crime record for the period from 1st June to 15th June.

Great to see that our crime record remains so low.  Worrying to see a handbag snatch and disappointing to see that people were unable to behave on returning from a night out and resorted to throwing eggs at someone’s front door.  Although we only had one burglary over the last fortnight, I’ve noticed recently that burglaries in the area tend to be cycles stolen from sheds.  If you would like any crime prevention advice re sheds, garages or cycles please contact us by phone or email.

On a happier note, we’ve been able to carry some good community engagement lately.  This included visiting street parties in Malmains Way and Pickhurst Park along with the St Mary’s Church Picnic over the Jubilee weekend.  All three Shortlands officers (myself, Chris & Lea) along with Hicran, the Copers Cope PCSO, recently gave a very enjoyable talk on road safety and police work to the reception classes.

Also Hicran and I visited St Mary’s Church youth club on the Sunday just gone.  I particularly enjoyed doing some grass sledging.

If anyone wants to come along, we’re holding a residents’ surgery at Shortlands Library tomorrow (Friday 17/06/22) from 4pm to 5pm.  Hope to see some of you there.

Thanks as always for your help and support.

Kind regards

Adam
