25 Oct Local Crime Update 19/10/2022
Dear Residents
Please find below the crime record for the period from 1st Oct to 19th Oct.
About a week ago the ward was hit quite badly in terms of vehicle crime. Sadly a resident in Pickhurst Park had a wheel hub thrown at him by suspects who stole his catalytic convertor when he challenged them. On a more positive note it appears that a Faraday case worked well when suspects tried to steal a car in Wickham Way but were unable to unlock the doors.
A big thank you to a resident of Durham Road who has kept us well informed about a group driving round in the early hours going on to driveways and looking at cars.
Fortunately, in this ward we do get some long periods when we have nothing to put on these reports but we (police and residents) all need to remain vigilant to keep things this way.
On the community engagement side of things we’ll be holding a Cuppa with a Copper session this Saturday 22/10/22 from 11 am to midday at Costa Coffee, Westmoreland Road and a residents surgery at Shortlands Library, Shortlands Road on Friday 28/10/22 from 4pm to 5pm. We’re also planning to be at St Mary’s Church, Kingswood Road after the service this Sunday 23/10/22.
Thanks as always for your help and support.
Adam
