Latest Crime Update 31/08/2025

Dear Residents

Please find below the crime record for the period from 16th to 31st August 2025.

Overall, not too bad with several days with nothing to report. Very sad and worrying to see a sexual assault on the ward.  Although the victim quickly called police unfortunately it was too late, and the suspect got away.  Also worrying to see a robbery & attempted robbery.  Very pleased that in the case of the attempted robbery that the suspects were scared off by passers-by.  Unfortunately, no one called 999.

Overall Shortlands & Park Langley Ward remains a safe place to live & work. If you’re looking to improve your home and/or vehicle security, it’s well worth visiting the “Secured by Design” website to find the best product for your needs.
On the community engagement side, we’re holding a drop-in surgery this Saturday (06/09/25) from 10am to 11am at Shortlands Library.  I’m also hoping to pop into post service tea & coffee at St Mary’s Church on Sunday morning 7th Sept.  Our next “Cuppa With A Copper” session will be on Friday 19/09/25 from 4pm to 5pm at Costa Coffee, Westmoreland Road.

Thanks as always for your help & support.

Kind Regards
