Local Crime Update 15/11/2023

Dear Residents

Please find below the crime record for the period 1st November to 15th November.  Fortunately the overall crime rate’s been low over the last fortnight with several days of nothing to report.  Worrying to see a vehicle left unattended for a brief period was nearly stolen.  Shows how important it is to lock vehicles even when left unattended for a very short period.  Also although we only had one burglary in the last fortnight, it’s very worrying that suspects broke into a house when the occupants were present.  Pleased that they were chased off and a shame they weren’t caught.  Also remember not to leave valuable items unattended in vehicles.

On the community engagement side the team attended the Rememberance Sunday service at St Mary’s Church.  The event went very smoothly and was a fitting tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.  PC Chris Brown laid a wreath on behalf of the Police. I held a drop in surgery at Shortlands Library on Saturday.  Unfortunately no one came!

On Wednesday 22/11/23 we hope to pop into the community café at St Mary’s Church.  On Friday 17/11/23 from 4pm to 5pm, Thursday 23/11/23 from 4pm to 5pm and Thursday 30/11/23 from 10am to 11am we’ll be holding Cuppa With A Copper sessions at Costa Coffee, Westmoreland Road.  This Saturday (18/11/23) we’ll be attending the Shortlands Residents Association road safety meeting at Harris Primary School, Mays Hill Road starting at 10.30am.

Hope to see some of you at these events.

Thanks as always for your help and support.

Kind regards

Adam
