17 Jul Local Crime Update 30/06/2023
Dear Residents
Please find below the crime record for the period from 20th to 30th June 2023.
Very pleasing to see no burglaries in the last fortnight but unfortunately we’ve seen a theft of tools from a van. I’ve noticed a change in theft of motor vehicle patterns. The first two vehicles stolen were the type of expensive vehicles we often see stolen (a Jaguar and a Range Rover) but the other two were smaller, less expensive, vehicles (a Renault Clio and a Ford Fiesta). More expensive vehicles are usually stolen to order whereas less expensive vehicles are often used in crime. I’ll monitor this trend and update further in my next report.
On the community engagement side, we’ve carried out a weapons sweep, a library surgery and Cuppa With A Copper. Unfortunately, we had only one person come to talk to us at the library and no one at either of the other events.
On a more positive note, the team held a joint catalytic convertor marking event at Tesco, Elmers End Road with our colleagues’ from Kelsey & Eden Park and Beckenham Town Centre & Copers Cope Wards. Around fifty people attended to have their catalytic convertors marked.
Our next drop-in surgery is at Shortlands Library, Shortlands Road on Saturday 29/07/23. We’ll be holding our next Cuppa With A Copper session at Costa Coffee, Westmoreland Road on Friday 14/07/23 from 10am to 11am.
Hope to see some of you there.
Thanks as always for your help and support.
Adam
