19 Mar Shortlands Village To Get £10K Council Parade Grant

With the support of the SRA, Shortlands Village is to receive a Parade Grant worth £10,000 to help enhance the appearance of the Village nearest the railway bridge by way of new planters and benches. The Council grant is one of five just announced to boost the look of small shopping parades across the Borough.
Welcoming this grant, applied for through local Councillor Aisha Cuthbert, SRA Chair Mike Ricketts said ‘This money, backed up with £500 pledged by the SRA, will help in our efforts to revitalise the Village as a shopping centre both for local residents and to encourage more visitors to ‘stop and shop’’.
