Dear Residents,

Please find below the crime record for the two periods 31st May to 15th June and 16th June to 30th June 2026.

As I’ve just returned to work after a month’s leave and there’s not too much to say.

Unfortunately, there has been an increase in thefts of motor vehicle.  Honda CRV’s seem to be popular targets for thieves at the moment.  Whatever vehicle you own, it could be worth a looking on the “Secured by Design” website and/or worth speaking to your vehicle manufacturer re enhanced vehicle security.

Hopefully, I’ll have more in a couple of weeks when I’ve been back longer.

Shortlands Crime Record 31/05/26-15/06/26

 

 

Criminal Damage:

  1. 30/05/26-02/06/26.   Queens Mead Road.  Toilets vandalised in club house.
  2. 15/06/25 Late morning.  Whitecroft Way.  Rear window of vehicle smashed.

 

Theft of Motor Vehicle:

  1. 02/06/26 Late evening-03/06/26 early morning.  Warren Avenue.  Vehicle stolen from driveway.  Black Honda CRV.
  2. 04/06/26 Mid morning-05/06/26 mid morning.  Park Hill Road.  Grey Toyota CHR stolen.
  3. 09/06/26-14/06/26.  Wickham Way.  Black Honda motorcycle stolen.

 

Burglary:

  1. 13/06/26 (attempted).  Farnaby Road  Suspect(s) attempted to force open front door of victim’s flat .

 

Theft from Motor Vehicle:

  1. 02/06/26 Late evening-03/06/26 early morning.   Foxes Dale.  Number plates stolen.
  2. 08/06/26 Mid morning-09/06/26 mid morning.  Shortlands Road.  Number plates stolen.

 

Vehicle Interference:

  1. 13/06/26 Overnight.  Park Hill Road.  Suspect(s) attempted to break inti vehicle by drilling through locks.

 

Attempted Fraud:

  1. 11/06/26 Late morning.  Scotts Lane.  Elderly female received call from mail claiming to be police officer.  Claimed their had been fraudulent activity on her bank account saying she needed to withdraw a large amount of money.   He also asked about jewellery she owned.  Victim did not disclose any information or with draw the money.  She contacted her daughter who helped her report it to police.

Theft of Motor Vehicle:

  1. 16/06/26 Overnight.  Woodlea Drive.  Suspects forced open front gates & stole vehicle from driveway.  Jeep.
  2. 23/06/26 Overnight.  Madeira Avenue.  Grey Alfa Romeo stolen from outside house.
  3. 26/06/26.  Overnight.  Malmains Way.  Honda CR V5 stolen from driveway.
  4. 25/06/26 Late afternoon-26/06/26 mid morning.  Hayes Way.  Yellow Fiat Panda stolen.

 

Theft:

  1. 18/06/26 Early afternoon.  Top Park.  Sprigs of mint stolen from front garden.
  2. 21/06/26 Mid evening.  Downs Bridge Road..  Suspect on bicycle snatched victim’s phone.
  3. 26/06/26.  Mid afternoon.  Westmoreland Road.  Bicycle stolen from rack after suspects cut lock.

 

Criminal Damage:

  1. 16/06/26 Overnight.  Bushey Way.  Tyre damaged.
  2. 16/06/26.  Overnight.  Top Park.  Tyre damaged.

 

Vehicle Interference:

  1. 21/06/26-22/0/26 Overnight.  Westmoreland Road.  Car window smashed & chemical thrown at door
  2. 23/06/26 Overnight.  Waldron Gardens.  Two suspects on e bikes disturbed while trying to steal vehicle.  Silver Honda CRV
