Dear Residents,

 

Please find below the crime record for the period from 1st August to 14th August below.

Unfortunately, we’ve had quite a bit of motor vehicle crime.  Very pleasing to see two suspects arrested in Malmains Way for vehicle interference. Worrying to see both on this fortnight’s report & the previous fortnight’s report attempted frauds against the elderly. On a more positive note, very pleasing to see no burglaries in the last fortnight & that the overall crime rate remains low.

On the community engagement side, the next panel meeting’s this Tuesday18/08/26 at 7.30 pm.  This will be held in the Friends Room at St Mary’s Church, Kingswood Road.

We’ll be holding a Cuppa With A Copper sessions at Costa Coffee in Westmoreland Road on:

  • Saturday 22/08/26 from 11am to midday
    and
  • Friday 28/08/26 from 10am to 11am

 

We’ll also try and drop into St Mary’s Church for post-service tea & coffee on Sunday 23/08/26.

Shortlands Crime Record 01/08/26-14/08/26

 

Vehicle Interference:

  1. 03/08/26 Overnight.  Malmains Way.  Suspects spotted by one of the victims trying car doors.  999 called.  Joint attendance from Bromley Response Officers & a dog van led to two suspects being arrested.
  2. 07/08/26 Overnight-late morning.  Warren Avenue.  Wheel arch & wiring tampered with in an attempt to start vehicle.  Toyota Rav 4
  3. 11/08/26.  Overnight.  Farnaby Road.  Suspect(s) attempted to steal motorcycle from driveway.
  4. 12/08/26 Late morning South Hill Road.  Suspect entered victim’s vehicle which was parked in communal area of block of flats.
  5. 13/08/26 Early to mid afternoon.  Meadow Road  Suspect(s) tried to tamper with electrics behind front wheel.  Toyota CRH.

Fraud:

  1. 31/07/26 (Delayed report).  Shortlands Grove.  Elderly female tricked into buying gift cards.

Theft:

  1. 01/08/26 Early afternoon.  Beckenham Lane.  Several bottles of alcohol & sweets stolen from off licence.

Robbery:

  1. 05/08/26 Mid evening.  Warren Avenue Paying Fields.  Teenager pushed to ground by group of teenagers.  Money stolen.  Phone stamped on & broken.

Theft of Motor Vehicle:

  1. 09/08/26.  Overnight.  Druids Way.  Vehicle stolen from driveway.  Recovered in Penge after victim used tracker.  Suspect still with vehicle when found by victim.  Tried to drive off stopped by police after victim called 999.  Suspect arrested.  Dark grey BMW X3.
  2. 09/08/26  (Attempted)  Druids Way.  Overnight.  Suspects came on to victim’s driveway & used device to try & open car.  When this failed they went to a neighbouring address and stole a vehicle as shown above.
  3. 10/08/26 Overnight-late morning.  Elwill Way.  Vehicle stolen from driveway.   Grey KIA Nero.
