05 Nov Latest Crime Report 01/11/2025
Dear Residents,
Please find below the crime record for the period from 17th Oct to 1st Nov 2025.
Worrying to see a shop on our ward being regularly targeted by shoplifters & their security being assaulted. Fortunately, they do call 999 & have CCTV so hopefully the shoplifters can be caught and dealt with.
Disappointing to see a burglary after quiet a long period without any.
Overall, the crime rate remains low.
Over last weekend, this week & this weekend many people will be celebrating Bonfire Night. The Metropolitan Police and the London Fire Brigade advise against holding displays at home and suggest attending a properly regulated public display. If you do hold a celebration at home, ensure that you use smaller fireworks that won’t land in neighbouring gardens & keep any bonfires under control.
For more detailed information re safety on Bonfire Night please visit the London Fire Brigade website.

Good News Stories 31/10/2025
The team wanted to share the good news stories that have occurred in the local area over the last week, following the work the team has been doing. This is the work that the teams of Beckenham Town and Copers Cope, Clock House, Kelsey and Eden Park and Shortlands and Park Langley have been a part of.
Firstly, the Shortlands team have welcomed a new PC to the ward, you may have seen him around, he is keen to get to know the ward and the community, if you see him around be sure to say hi.
PC Ridley was involved in a shoplifting operation where thousands of pounds of stolen goods recovered, and 32 people were arrested for various offences, including handling stolen goods, drug offences and immigration violations.
Shortlands had a successful Cuppa with a Copper with a number of people turning up and speaking with the local team around crime prevention advice and local concerns.
All four teams have been a part of the Autumn Nights patrols; during the shifts there was a number of Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act (Drugs) stop and searches completed, and vehicles were stopped for speeding, and driving not in accordance with a licence.
The four teams attended a call in regards to a moped being driving in Harvington Rec, when the teams arrived the bike was seen being driven by two youths, who made off from police. The police caught up and detained them under Section 1 PACE (Going equipped). Nothing was found and the bike was recovered by police and reported to the council for collection.
The Kelsey and Eden Park team conducted a met engage event in Croydon Rec and signed up a number of residents to the platform and provided crime prevention advice.
In Clock House, there have been 3 males arrested for theft of motor vehicle, these males are currently in custody and investigations are still ongoing.
Update on injured officer: Our officer attended hospital with Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) injuries and underwent medical treatment, he has returned this week and is looking forward to getting back out on the ward. The male who caused the injuries is still under investigation of this matter.
