Latest Crime Update15/04/2025

Dear Residents

Please find the crime record for the period from 1st April to 15th April 2025 below. Generally speaking the overall crime rate remains low.Worrying to see a knife used in a robbery and glad no one was injured.  Remember your property can be replaced.  Your life can’t.

Last Thursday I assisted a person on Queensmead Recreation Ground who was trying to stop two young males who had snatched his phone.  He’d been sitting on a bench in Churchill Gardens when the two suspects walked past snatched his phone and ran downhill through the park on to Queensmead Recreation Ground.  Be very careful when using your phone in public places.  Make sure you keep an eye on whose around you and don’t focus completely on your phone.  If necessary, put your phone away and complete what you are doing later.

On the community engagement side, I attended the community café at St Mary’s Church last Wednesday (09/04/25).  I had some very enjoyable chats and enjoyed joining in with a lady’s 90th birthday celebrations.

N.B. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, I’ve had to cancel the drop-in session at Shortlands Library which was due to take place on Saturday 19/04/25 from 10am to 11am. Our next Cuppa With A Copper session will be from 10am to 11am on Tuesday 22/04/25 at Costa Coffee, Westmoreland Road. Also, a reminder that we’ve got the community meeting at Eden Park High School on Thursday 01/05/25 commencing at 630pm.

Thanks as always for your help and support.

Kind regards

Adam
