Local crime update 15/09/2020

Dear Residents

Please find below the crime record for the period from 1st Sept to 15th Sept 2020.

Looking at the four crimes reported, when it comes to vehicle security, try and park the rear of your vehicle against a wall to make sliding under to steal a catalytic convertor harder; double check you have removed all valuable items and taken them indoors when you park up for the night.

The South Hill Road attempted burglary was at an empty house where the occupant had passed away a few months ago.  If you are responsible for a house in this situation try and ensure it is checked daily if possible.  Perhaps give a trusted neighbour the key.

If you live in a block of flats make sure there is nothing in the grounds that could be used as a climbing aid to reach balconies.

Also, remember to call 999 if you see a crime taking place or suspects fleeing as, with two of the four crimes, suspects were disturbed and seen fleeing but 999 wasn’t called.

Generally speaking, things are going well on the Ward.

Keep up the excellent social distancing.

Kind Regards

Adam
