Local Crime Update 15/09/2021

Dear Residents

Hope you’re all well.

Please find below the crime record for the period from 1st Sept to 15th Sept.

Unfortunately we’ve seen a rise in burglaries recently.  Large houses converted into flats have been targeted.  With at least one of them I know that entry was gained by someone using an object to force open doors that had been single locked.  Whether you live in a house or flat no door providing access into your home or a communal area should ever be left single locked as it is easy to use an edged object to open the door without causing any damage.

Regarding the bicycle robbery, remember that if someone threatens you to try and steal something and you fear being assaulted sadly it is often safer to hand your property over to avoid injury.  Call 999 as soon as possible.  Property such as phones and bicycles are replaceable.  People’s lives are not.

On a lighter note, PC Hartley and I visited the St Mary’s Church coffee morning yesterday (15/09/21) and had some nice chats with residents.   My apologies to anyone planning to come and see us at Costa today as this had to be cancelled at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances.

Our next surgery is at Shortlands Library, Shortlands Road on Tuesday 21/09/21 from Midday to 1pm.  Please feel free to pop along.

Thanks as always for your help & support.

Kind Regards
