18 Jan Local crime update 16/01/2021
Hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year. Please accept my apologies for the delay in sending this report out as I was off work sick after Christmas and have only just returned to work.
Below is the crime record for the periods 16/12/20 to 31/12/20 and 1/1/21 to 16/1/21.
Very pleasing to see no theft from motor vehicles and only one vehicle interference at the end of December. Fortunately, crime generally remained low over the festive period on Shortlands.
Regarding the two thefts of motor vehicle offences in the first 2 weeks of January, both stolen vehicles were Range Rovers. If you have one of these or another SUV then, if possible, keep in a securely locked garage and/or place your vehicle keys in a Faraday Case or similar container.
If you still have any boxes from expensive presents to put out with the rubbish and recycling please ensure they are hidden in the bin or recycling box to avoid giving away to burglars that you have new expensive items in your home.
I hope you’re all keeping well at this tough time.
Remain vigilant and contact us by the appropriate means about crime and anti-social behaviour.
