Scams Update

Latest news of three scams doing the rounds…

  1. Recorded message coming through on 07979 654292 from a man saying this is the police…your insurance number has been deemed suspicious as it has been used in illegal activities. It will be suspended immediately unless you press 1 on your dial. Please end the call at once.
  2. Email received from NHS Notifications including a form to fill in personal and bank details to pay £3 online in order to get a vaccination. This is a scam to get those details, but it comes from gypsydoll500@hotmail .co.uk Definitely not a NHS email address and there is no charge for the COVID vaccination. Please ignore.
  3. Similar scam whereby you receive an email saying you are eligible for a COVID jab, urging you to click on a link which should take you through to another screen where, again, you enter your details and pay for a jab. The source of the email is an unofficial one using addresses like ‘bigjay 1986’, ‘Fizzgig49’ and even ‘arsenalfc’.

Please delete if you receive one of these emails. Anyone eligible for a vaccination will be contacted by your GP, local hospital or, if you are a key worker, your employer…and the jab is free.
