Upcoming Weekend Closure of Pedestrian Footbridge at Mays Hill Road

Upcoming Weekend Closure of Pedestrian Footbridge at Mays Hill Road

Network Rail have advised that they need to close Mays Hill Road pedestrian footbridge for one further weekend from 22:00 on Saturday 12th June 2021 until 05:00 on Monday 14th June 2021.

Network Rail have provided the following information “We have some further repairs to the brick stairs and balustrades that have resulted from items discovered during the original works that required design input and due to us needing to access the track below for scaffolding, we were unable to do these at the time of the initial installation.” These works can only be carried out when no trains are running on the train lines and there are no trains coming through this direction during this weekend period.

The same pedestrian diversion will be in place for pedestrians wanting to use the bridge as before via Queens Mead Road, Bromley Gardens, Footbridge linking Bromley Gardens and Queen Anne Avenue, Queen Anne Avenue, Hillside Road and Mays Hill Road in both directions.

Network Rail has been asked to inform immediate residents either side of the bridge so they are aware of the works and for advanced notice boards to go out prior to the closure so pedestrians that use the bridge are also notified.
