01 Jan Update on Council services
You will doubtless have seen the very unfortunate significant increase in infection rates locally, particularly since Christmas. This is now beginning to have an effect on council services, particularly waste and recycling collections, street cleaning including leaf clearance and emptying of on street bins and recycling areas. This is because of significant numbers of both our and our contractors’ staff having to self isolate.
The Council’s web site is being updated frequently and will show any necessary changes to collection dates. This is the most up to date way of finding out. Things can still be reported on fix my street but may not receive as fast a response as we would all like.
We urge people NOT to phone the council unless very urgent. By all means send e mails or fill out web forms.
